Avocado Hass
The Hass avocado, the most popular avocado variety globally, originated from a single tree planted in La Habra Heights, California, in the mid-1920s by Rudolph Hass, a California postal worker and botanical enthusiast. While avocados themselves originated in southern Mexico and Central America, the Hass variety is a California native.
